History

The foundation stone of St. Chrysostom's was laid in May 1852 and the church was opened on 31st August 1853.

The church was built in the parish of Walton-on-the-Hill, but an ecclesiastical district was assigned to the church and the parish of St. Chrysostom was not created until 1866. As a result of the reorganisation of the parishes of St. John, St. Chrysostom and Emmanuel.

St. Chryststom's was demolished in 1970
